Desiree Haenchen has been dancing since she was 3 years old. Not only does she still take classes, teach kids, donate her time, perform professionally and spread her love for dance within the community, she now teaches Zumba! She took her passion to dance and found a love for fitness within a Zumba class and decided to become licenced. Currently Desiree is employeed with Uptown Dance Studio , she teaches kids hip hop, Zumba, and assists the owners with thier classes. You can also find her subbing every chance she gets in local gyms or performing with entertainment companies in NJ as a choreographed dancer or party motivator. Desiree is the first to donate her time within the community, she has taught at local daycares and has been involved with the Lifeline Challenge to Healthy Living Program in order to keep kids fit and healthy. Just this past weekend Desiree got licened to teach Zumbatomic, we are so very proud of her. She has been helping with many Zumbathons but just this past month she lead her own to help a baby and his family in need. Her students nick named her "lil bit" or "firecracker"... Don't let her small packaging fool you though... Desiree has been know to fog mirrors wherever she teaches, she certainly will make you work! Here is what she has to say about her journey with Zumba... "Ever since I was instroduced to Zumba, it has been the biggest part of my life. It all started when my dance instructor, Leslea, got her certification in Zumba and I was taking her classes and she had encouraged me to get certified. I'm proud to be certified at the young age of 22. Once I had my certification I couldn't wait to teach. I'm glad I got the chance to connect with all my students and not just exercise, but dance away! The best part of being an instructor is I get to do it with my Zumba sister, Leslea. Zumba has changed my life and I just love to teach. I held my first Zumbathon for a baby named Dimitri and the energy was just amazing. I teach to feel the energy from my students and we have a good time. I want to tahnks everyone for sticking with me and taking my class. Peace, love, Zumba to all my fellow Zumba family.
